Freunde von John Mayall, gute Nachrichten! Dinu Logoz arbeitet seit einiger Zeit an einer Biographie John Mayalls, dem Doyen des englischen Blues. Der Arbeitstitel ist: John Mayall, The Blues Crusader und die Arbeiten daran werden in etwa zwei Jahren abgeschlossen sein. Das Buch wird in englischer Sprache erscheinen. Unseres Wissens gibt es bisher keine vernünftige Publikation über diesen wichtigen Musiker und Förderer des Bluesrevivals in den 60er Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts, dessen Wirken weit über die britische, wahrscheinlich sogar über die europäische Blueszene hinaus geht. Neben einigen DVDs zum Thema wäre hier John Mayall: Blues Breaker (Sanctuary Publishing, Ltd.; 1996, ISBN-10: 1860741290) zu nennen, das sich aber nur zu kleinem Teil mit John Mayall selbst beschäftigt, sondern die Entwicklung der britischen Blueszene und Mayalls Protégés (Clapton, Green) ins Zentrum stellt. Die bereits in den 90er Jahren angekündigte Autobiographie Mayalls lässt ebenfalls auf sich warten. In diesem Artikel folgt eine Vorschau auf den Inhalt und ein Aufruf zu Objekten, die dringend gesucht werden.
